Open In-Game Settings

Start a game, open the menu/settings button, and select a section such as Saves, Controls, Cores, Shaders, Theme, or Audio. Some actions are unavailable for particular systems or multiplayer modes.

Audio and Volume

Open Audio and adjust Master Volume. Use this for listening comfort; reducing volume is not a general fix for slow emulation. See Troubleshooting for performance advice.

Shaders and Screen Filters

Open Shaders to choose a screen effect. Available effects include CRT, smoothing, scaling, and handheld-style filters. Choose Original to use the unfiltered picture and reduce graphics work.

Shader availability depends on the active renderer and core.

Console Themes

Open Theme to change the appearance of the on-screen console and controls. This is separate from the overall app theme in Settings > Appearance.

Controls and D-Pad Style

Open Controls to adjust touch controls and review keyboard or gamepad mappings. Try Static or Dynamic D-pad style, and connect a gamepad before editing its mapping.

Use Hide Controls or Show Controls from the main menu to toggle the touch controller.

Current Game Core

A core is the emulator engine used for the game. Changing it restarts the game, and a save state from the previous core may not load correctly.

1. Save inside the game and export your in-game save first.
2. Open Cores.
3. Choose an available core for this game.
4. Read and confirm the change.

For default cores across systems, use Settings > Emulation. Multiplayer can lock the core for the duration of the room.

Disk Drive

When a supported computer game has multiple disks, open Disk Drive and choose the disk requested by the game. Wait for the switch to finish before continuing.

The disks must have been uploaded together as one media set. See Upload Your First Game.

Save Settings While Playing

Open Saves to turn autosave on or off, choose its interval, and set Max Auto Saves. Quick-save options are also available where supported. See Saves, Screenshots, and Cheats.

Fullscreen and Hide Controls

Select Fullscreen when supported by the browser. Select Hide Controls to make room for gameplay when using a keyboard, gamepad, or remote phone, and Show Controls to restore touch buttons.

Settings That Affect Every Game

Open Settings for app language, appearance, account control mappings, and default cores. Use Big Picture for a controller-friendly interface outside the play screen.
