Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms govern your use of the Rebit website, web application, and mobile applications, including Rebit Play for iPhone and iPad (the Service). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

For an application obtained through Apple's App Store, Apple's applicable Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Mandatory App Store terms control if they conflict with these Terms.

2. The Service

Rebit provides tools for organizing and playing a user-supplied retro game library, storing saves and media, and using social, multiplayer, and remote-play features. Features and supported systems may change. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials and devices, and activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account is compromised. Sign in with Apple, Google login, email login, and guest access may be available on different platforms.

You can request deletion in Rebit settings. A seven-day grace period applies before permanent deletion. Deleting a Rebit account does not cancel a subscription purchased through an app store.

4. User Content and Public Features

You retain ownership of content you upload or create. You grant Rebit a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate and improve the Service, apply your sharing choices, and enforce these Terms.

Public profiles, game pages, screenshots, comments, reactions, and multiplayer activity may be visible to other users. Do not upload or publish unlawful, infringing, threatening, abusive, deceptive, privacy-invasive, sexually exploitative, hateful, violent, or otherwise harmful content. Rebit may automatically reject public text that matches restricted phrases. Users can report profiles, comments, and screenshots, and can block or unblock accounts. We may review reports, preserve an evidence snapshot, remove content, restrict public features, or suspend accounts to protect users, rights holders, and the Service.

Blocking is a personal safety control: it removes follows between the two accounts, hides their public content from each other, and prevents new comments, replies, follows, and reactions between them. Do not evade another user's block through a different account. Urgent safety or legal concerns can also be sent to [email protected].

5. Games, Emulator Components, and Intellectual Property

Rebit does not provide commercial game ROMs. You may use only game files, artwork, firmware, BIOS files, and other content that you own or are legally authorized to use. You are responsible for determining whether your copying, upload, storage, and use are lawful in your location.

The Service may retrieve technical emulator components from Rebit infrastructure when needed for compatibility. Rebit and its licensors retain their rights in the Service, software, branding, and supplied components. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• violate law or another person's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights;
• distribute unauthorized copyrighted game content through Rebit;
• attempt to bypass security, plan limits, access controls, or purchase verification;
• interfere with the Service, other users, multiplayer sessions, or infrastructure;
• use automated or abusive activity that creates unreasonable load; or
• use the Service to harass, exploit, impersonate, or harm another person.

7. Rebit Play Pro Subscriptions

Rebit Play may offer monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock Pro features. Prices and currencies are shown by the applicable store before purchase.

For an App Store purchase:

• payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase;
• the subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period;
• your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends;
• you can manage or cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings and restore eligible purchases from Rebit settings; and
• refund requests are handled by Apple except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Equivalent store rules apply to purchases made through Google Play. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals but does not delete your Rebit account. Deleting your Rebit account does not cancel the store subscription. Pro access may take a short time to synchronize among the store, RevenueCat, and Rebit. Store price changes, billing, refunds, and subscription availability are also subject to the store's terms.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service uses or links to third-party services, including app stores, authentication providers, subscription infrastructure, storage and networking providers, diagnostic services, and optional game integrations. Their terms and privacy policies govern their services. Rebit is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.

9. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or limit features when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, nonpayment, abuse, or a material violation of these Terms. Where appropriate, we may provide notice or an opportunity to appeal through support.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rebit disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every game or device, preservation of every file, or error-free multiplayer connectivity. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rebit and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the Service. Applicable law may provide rights or remedies that cannot be limited by these Terms.

12. Changes

We may update the Service and these Terms. We will post updated Terms with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
